As you may know at American Girl they have a Girl of the Year every year. This year the girl of the year is Saige. She is from Mexico and loves to paint and ride horses. All girls get their own movie and personality. Like Mckenna Girl of the Year 2012 she has a movie called Mckenna Shoots for the Stars. My all time favorite Girl of the Year is Kanani Girl of the Year 2011. She is Hawaiian and has very long brown hair. 2014 girl of the year is Isabelle Palmer. Learn more about her in my blog post.
Don't think this is creepy. Everyone knows some kids have cancer and they have no hair. American Girl Company wanted to help these kids. They made an option for a doll without hair. Kids could get dolls without hair so they have somebody just like them. If the kids do ever get their hair back American Girl Company has an option to send the doll back to the doll hospital and the workers can add hair.
If the doll owner would like to wash their doll's hair here are some tips. First, don't wash the dolls hair unless it really needs washed. If the doll owner needs to wash their dolls hair get a mild shampoo like Johnson's baby shampoo (pictured to the left). Do not use any other shampoo because the doll's hair will fall out. Then the doll owner must get the water ready. The water can't be to hot or to cold. Run the water on just her hair not her scalp or the top of the doll's head. If it helps wrap the doll in a towel so it covers the skin and eyes. Put some shampoo in the palm your hand and rub it together. Put in the doll's hair and rinse it out. (P.S do not get water in the doll's eyes or they could rust shut)
